Christmas Part 2

Almost done with blog updates, whoohoo!!! I love blogging as a means of record keeping/journaling, but man, when you get behind, it becomes such a chore to get caught up. Speaking of which...I don't really know who reads this blog anymore, but if you do, please leave us a comment once in a while. I plan on printing out this blog in a photo book every couple years so we have a book for our future family to enjoy. It'd be nice to have a record of the thoughts and comments of our friends and family too!

So...we left off with Christmas day. After Christmas we continued take advantage of the beautiful snowy weather, by doing some more snowshoeing. Liz, Mark and I trekked out to the glacier to see the ice caves. Unfortunately we went late on a very cloudy day, so the pictures are pretty terrible.
Love that blue ice!
When we weren't busy playing outside we took advantage of the city pools being free now (which is so cool, by the way. Not paying for lap swim is awesome!) and took Bennett to tot swim. There are two pools at the facility, a regular lap pool and a hydro pool which is a huge, warm, shallow pool designed for hydro therapy and perfect for little swimmers. Bennett had lots of fun going down the kiddie slide, being tossed from parent to parent and showing grandma how to pour water from one cup to another.
When the sun finally comes out in Valdez, it's best to immediately run outside and enjoy it. So that's what we did! Got this shot as we started a snowshoe along a cliff on the water. One of the coolest things about a sunny day in Valdez during the winter is that the sun "rises" and "sets" many times. It skirts the horizon of mountains all day, which makes for hours of dynamic photos.

Mark, Bennett in the backpack and Grandma chasing the sun.

One of the only family photos I got this trip. I'm terrible about getting out from behind the lens.

Sunshine makes me so happy :)

Bennett made Grandpa Ken about as proud as he could possibly be when he discovered that he really likes black licorice. Bennett put a serious dent in Grandpa's stash.

Bennett loved sledding, so we had to get in one last round before we packed up and headed out. Can't tell who's having more fun!

We met back up with Chrissy and Kelvan at Moose's Tooth for our tradition goodbye pizza. Mmmm, Tooooooooth...

Saying goodbye to Grandma at the airport :( Until next time, we'll miss you Alaska!
