(Mis)adventures in New Parenthood

Bennett is 3 weeks and 1 day old today. It's been another fun filled week with our little guy. Mark and I are a little exhausted from the steep learning curve (and the current growth spurt Ben's going through...the almost hourly feedings are wearing me out!) We don't have anything major to report. Every day is fairly similar, we're just trying to enjoy every moment. We don't have to go to school or work, we're just hanging out and it is glorious!

Here's some random snippets -

This is what my attempts at swaddling often look like after a couple minutes. Notice the escapee's loose feet and hands. Fail.

Bennett haaaaaaaates being burped in the middle of a feeding. He glares at me like, "Um, Mom, why is there no boob in my mouth?!" In this case, it appears that he's so annoyed he's actually giving Mark the finger.

Mark was about to take the diaper genie trash bag out when he looked at me and sighed, "I feel like the Santa Claus of poop." I could not stop laughing at that visual!

This is how Mark and Bennett spend a large chunk of the day, playing NCAA Football 11. Mark actually does chores during Bennett's nighttime feed sessions so he has more time to play during the day. Now that's dedication.

I just love those baby toes!
