34 Weeks

We had our 34 week check up yesterday. It was uneventful for the most part. Doc confirmed that baby is continuing to grow and develop nicely (like I couldn't have told her that, judging by my giant belly and crazy, monkey child living inside of it). Baby is up to all his usual tricks, staying up all night doing gymnastics, kicking anything and anyone that invades his space, etc. His new favorite activities include pushing his little, bony, baby butt out as far as he can and wiggling it and plucking my ribs like some sort of harp. These activities tickle his daddy to no end, but mom is getting a little annoyed, leave my ribs alone, dang gum it!


As a woman, sometimes we look in the mirror and think, "Could my butt GET any bigger!?" Well, after looking at this latest belly picture of me, it appears that pregnancy has called in with the answer and it is a resounding, "YES. Yes, it can." Oh man, it doesn't feel like it normally does when you gain a little weight and you feel squishy and sluggish, it's more like I'm a human water balloon being filled a little more each day...only 6 weeks 'till I pop!

Mark finished his finals on Friday and starts his externship in Vegas on Monday. Our grand "date week" is in full swing and we have done our best to pack 6 months worth of missed/future missed date nights into a week and a half of vacation time. One of the first things that had to get out of the way was putting together all the baby gear, making sure it's all complete and undamaged. It looks a little like a Babies 'R' Us exploded in our apartment. Do not ask me where all this stuff is supposed to fit!

Like our creepy stand in baby? The instructions for the carrier say that the carrier is at the proper height if you can kiss the top of baby's head. Mark demonstrating:


The pack and play, pretty sure that's not where baby's going to go though...


First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage...
